It is vitally important to develop adequate prevention and control strategies, built on reality, knowledge about the local or regional epidemiology of the disease must be increased. It is necessary to explore and deepen an area and its environment to identify risk factors often ignored, when working without a comprehensive approach. The investigations carried out in the last years, show the Fasciolosis like a fundamental problem of public health worldwide. The objective of the present investigation was to determine the risk factors associated with the presentation of the F. hepatica parasite in bovine and ovine production systems in the municipalities of Encino Santander and Duitama, Belén Boyacá. For which a cross-section descriptive study was designed. 34 surveys were taken to the different livestock producers. The results of the diagnostic tests performed (coprology and serology), and information obtained from the variables under study, were analyzed by means of descriptive statistics and chi analysis. square, using the software program SPSS VERSION 21. In the results it was observed that the variables municipality, time in the path, the size of the farm, and presence of the biological vector, were presented as associated risk factors to present the parasite F. hepatica It could be concluded that the presence of the snail is a risk factor for the presence of the parasite F. hepatica in the trails and animals under study.
