- PublicaciónRestringidoFrecuencia de transfusiones de componentes sanguíneos en pacientes con anemia de células falciformes en un hospital de Valledupar, 2016-2018(Valledupar : Universidad de Santander, 2019, 2019-12-05) Alzate Carrillo, Adriana Patricia; Gomez Martinez, Valeria; Oliveros Barros, Julieth E.Sickle cell anemia is a frequent genetic disease caused by a defect in hemoglobin, its clinical manifestations are a broad spectrum that includes vasoclusive phenomena in different organs, causing painful paroxysmal crises, microinfarctions and their consequences. This study was descriptive, with a total of 62 patients admitted with the diagnosis under study, and a sample of 31 who, if they required transfusions, patients in the age range of 2 to 45 years. The search was conducted in the Hexabank® software of the transfusion service to determine how many of the totality had required this procedure As a result, it was shown that 50% were transfused with two types of blood components, 17.64% with standard red blood cells and 82.35% remaining leucorreduced red blood cells, transfused patients corresponded to 47.36% to the male gender and 45.83% to the female gender , with reference to hemoclassification and tracking of irregular antibodies, it was found that 22.58% of the population carries blood group A, 12.90% group B, 64.51% group O, of them 6.45% Rh D negative and 93.54 % D positive and by the tracking of irregular antibodies (RAI) 6.45% was positive and the remaining 93.54% was negative for this. In addition to this, the behavior analysis of the concentrations of the hematimetric indices before and after transfusion was performed, where relevance was obtained in the hematocrit parameters and mean corpuscular volume. On the other hand, a null value was obtained in the number of adverse reactions to the mentioned procedure. In conclusion, this type of procedure is mostly required by men who, by women, in an age range of 21-31 years, with a higher frequency in blood type O and Rh positive mostly.
