Among the free-living amoebas that have a pathogenic capacity for man, those of the genus Acanthamoeba spp and Naegleria spp stand out, and Acanthamoeba spp also has an endosymbiotic role of great relevance with other mainly pathogenic microorganisms. As is Helicobacter pylori which is a gram-negative, spiral-shaped and mobile gram bacillus that is colonizing the stomach of approximately half of the world's population, it has been linked as the causative agent of chronic diseases such as gastritis but in greater relevance with gastric cancer.

There is also an academic motivation since carrying out this study is part of the process to complete the training stage as an occupational therapist at the University of Santander, Cúcuta headquarters. The purpose of the research carried out was to analyze the incidence of environmental factors in the dysfunction of the occupational identity of young victims of armed conflict between the ages of 18 and 26, for this the methodology implemented was descriptive-correlational level of field design and thus to be able to establish the level of association of the variables. For the execution, the instrument of the historical occupational performance interview (OPHI-II) was applied to a sample of 18 young people identified as victims of the armed conflict between the ages of 18 and 26. Among the most relevant results found, it was obtained that the environment social and the main productive role, which is educational, are those that have an impact on the occupational identity of young people, primarily because of the importance of individual perception in relation to interaction with peers, which establishes or supports commitments and values acquired with the role, leading them to internalize it.

The present investigation aimed to characterize the employment situation of graduates between 2012 and 2017 of the Occupational Therapy program of the University of Santander Campus Cúcuta. A quantitative methodological approach was adopted at the descriptive level, trying to identify the sociodemographic characteristics, the labor insertion and the level of satisfaction of the graduates of the academic program.
- PublicaciónRestringidoAnálisis de los indices de deserción, permanencia y rezago estudiantil del PROGRAMA TERAPIA OCUPACIONAL del 2012-2017(Cúcuta: Universidad de Santander, 2018, 2018-11-30) Vesga González, Kelly Julieth.; Ramirez Jaimes, Yinneth; Contreras Rangel, Jael.La siguiente investigación tiene por objetivo general es analizar los índices de deserción, permanencia y rezago estudiantil del programa de Terapia Ocupacional de la universidad de Santander campus Cúcuta en un periodo comprendido entre los años 2012 al 2017 con el fin de contribuir a los procesos de calidad institucional y mejora también en la calidad del programa, el cual se llevó a cabo teniendo en cuenta la información suministrada por el programa y la oficina de registro y control con la base de datos de estudiantes matriculados, graduados, desertores y rezagados, de igual forma se aplicaron encuestas a dicha población, adicional a ello se tuvo en cuenta las asignaturas con mayor índice de mortalidad a fin de verificar si es un factor importante que puede conllevar a tomar la decisión de desertar.
- PublicaciónRestringidoAnálisis de los microorganismos nativos con potencial Biofertilizante aislados de suelos de palma de aceite en el CORREGIMIENTO LA LLANA NORTE DE SANTANDER.(Cucuta: Universidad de Santander, 2018, 2018-12-11) Laguado Toscano, Yulieth Vanessa.; Buitrago Duque, María Angélica.; Diaz Castañeda, Claudia-Elizabeth; Contreras Rangel, Jael.We analyzed the native microorganisms with biofertilizing potential isolated from the soil of palm oil crops in the Llana Norte de Santander corregimiento. For this, 500 g of soil were taken at a depth of 1-20 cm and 5 g of it was inoculated in winogradsky broth, then in Ashby Agar and then purified in Nutritive Agar to be identified by means of biochemical tests. For the determination of the biofertilizing potential of the isolated microorganisms, the inoculation of maize seeds was carried out and the treatments were monitored by observing the evolution of the growth of said plants in terms of length of the stem, length of the main leaf and diameter of the stem for 20 days. The results showed the presence of genera with biofertilizing potential such as: Enterobacter sp, Klebsiella sp, Pseudomonas sp and Acinetobacter sp. The treatments with Acinetobacter sp, Azotobacter sp, Burkholderia cepacea, Stenotrophomonas maltophilia showed 100% germination 10 days after inoculation.

Toxoplasmosis, caused by the protozoan parasite Toxoplasma gondii, is one of the most common parasitic infections in humans and other warm-blooded animals. It has been found throughout the world and almost a third of humanity has been exposed to this parasite and in most adults, it does not cause serious diseases, but it can cause some adverse effects in children with congenital infection and devastating diseases in immunocompromised individuals ; hence the importance of conducting this study in which we sought to determine the risk factors that are associated with the presence of anti-Toxoplasma gondii IgG antibodies in individuals with eye problems at the University of Santander, Cúcuta; this research intends, in addition to contributing objective results, to make an initial diagnosis that can serve as a starting point for other deeper research works, which manage to consider a greater quantity of both qualitative and quantitative variables. An instrument previously validated by an expert was applied to 120 students from the University of Santander, Cúcuta. After that, samples of peripheral blood were taken to each of them, which was centrifuged for the extraction of the serum, which was stored at -20 ° C for further processing. The ELISA was carried out in order to determine the presence of anti-Toxoplasma gondii IgG antibodies in the samples taken from the target population. In the tests carried out, a percentage of prevalence of infection by T. gondii of 18.3% was determined. On the other hand, with respect to the results obtained through the survey, the existence of a significant association between seropositivity and three risk factors studied was demonstrated, such as the socioeconomic stratum, the habit of fruit consumption and the frequency of food consumption for sale on public roads.

For this, 5 random rooms were selected for each block (B, C and D) and the sample was taken using the plate sedimentation technique exposing boxes with SPC agar and Baird Parker for 15 minutes. After the incubation period, the colony count was performed, and reported as UFC / 65cm2 / 15 minutes for mesophilic aerobes and Staphylococcus aureus. Subsequently, representative colonies of each of the boxes were taken and macroscopic and microscopic characterization of them was performed. For the determination of abiotic factors, variables of temperature, humidity and dust particles were considered.
- PublicaciónRestringidoAsociación de los factores de riesgo y la Seroprevalencia de toxoplasma gondii en trabajadores de construcción, de la Ciudad de CÚCUTA, 2018-2019.(Cúcuta, Universidad de Santander, 2019, 2019-07-03) Acuña Bermúdez, Anyela Roxana; Manrique Jerez, Dafne Alejandra; Ríos Ramírez, Yesmit Karina; Contreras Rangel, Jael.La toxoplasmosis es una de las parasitosis zoonóticas más prevalentes en humanos, la cual es causada por un protozoo llamado Toxoplasma gondii, que se encuentra ampliamente distribuido a nivel mundial, la infección tiene varias vías de transmisión y a su vez una gran cantidad de factores de riesgos asociados a la infección por Toxoplasma gondii. Objetivo asociar los factores de riesgos y la seroprevalencia de Toxoplasma gondii en trabajadores de construcción de la ciudad de Cúcuta, 2018-2019. Métodos la técnica utilizada fue un inmunoensayo enzimático (ELISA) para la detección de anticuerpos IgG Anti- Toxoplasma gondii, a partir de 173 muestras de suero de trabajadores de construcción. Resultados para inmunoglobina G se observó una seroprevalencia de 43,93%, a su vez entre los factores de riesgos más asociados a dicha parasitosis se encontró que el frecuente consumo alimentos en la calle con poco saneamiento, beber agua no potable, el tipo de material del piso de las viviendas y la tenencia de mascotas fueron los factores más influyentes en dicho estudio. Conclusión. El conocimiento acerca de las causas y consecuencias de la toxoplasmosis en la población es insuficiente, lo cual requiere la necesidad de una intervención educativa sobre el tema con vistas a prevenir los efectos negativos de la misma.
- PublicaciónRestringidoAsociación de Seroprevalencia y seroconversión de la Respuesta IgG Anti-virus dengue, con el área de formación de estudiantes de primer Semestre de la UDES Cúcuta, Colombia, 2018-2019.(Cúcuta, Universidad de Santander, 2019, 2019-12-11) Parra Galicia, Stephany Andrea; Palacios Yáñez, Sthefany; Cárdenas, Denny Miley; Contreras Rangel, Jael.El virus Dengue, transmitido por insectos del género Aedes sp, causa la mayor arbovirosis del planeta. Norte de Santander, considerado zona endémica, ocupa el quinto puesto a nivel Nacional reportando 6.034 casos. La mayoría de las infecciones son asintomáticas facilitando su no percepción, actualmente no se cuenta con información sobre prevalencia de Dengue en la comunidad UDES, requiriéndose del conocimiento del estado de éste evento infeccioso en nuestra comunidad en fortalecimiento de la vigilancia epidemiológica; por lo cual el presente trabajo propuso determinar la asociación de la respuesta humoral IgG a Flavivirus Dengue en relación con variables sexo, edad y área de formación, en estudiantes de primer semestre de la Universidad de Santander, Cúcuta, Colombia durante los años 2018 y 2019, mediante un estudio de campo longitudinal con nivel correlacional, partiendo de una población de 86 estudiantes de primer semestre de la Universidad de Santander (UDES) Campus Cúcuta, seleccionados aleatoriamente (consintiendo participar de manera voluntaria) con un rango de edades de 15-30 años. El estudio se realizó en dos fases, fase I (análisis al momento de la vinculación al estudio) y fase II (análisis 1 año después de la vinculación al estudio). En la fase I se determinó seroprevalencia al agente infeccioso y en la fase II el cambio del estado serológico (seroconversión) de los individuos inicialmente seronegativos. Como resultado, en la fase I se obtuvo la seroprevalencia frente al virus Dengue, la cual fue 75,6%, resaltando que la seropositividad fue mayor en la Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud obteniendo el 78,0%. En la segunda fase se evidenció la seroconversión en el 50,0% de la población evaluada, resaltando que el 35,7% pertenecía a programas académicos de la Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud.
- PublicaciónAcceso abiertoAsociación del perfil de Citocinas circulantes TNF -α, IFN -γ e IL-10 en la Diabetes Mellitus tipo 2 de pacientes con Dislipidemia y alteración renal en la Ciudad de CÚCUTA- NORTE DE SANTANDER - COLOMBIA-(Cúcuta: Universidad de Santander, 2017, 2017-11-29) Garcia Bedoya, Nelly Andrea.; Sierra-Castrillo, Jhoalmis; Contreras Rangel, Jael.La gran relevancia que tiene la diabetes mellitus tipo 2 (DM2) a nivel mundial ha llevado a que Diferentes entidades mundialmente reconocidas en el estudio y seguimiento de la DM2, como la Organización Mundial de la Salud (OMS) y la Federación Internacional de Diabetes (IDF), consideran esta enfermedad como una pandemia por la alta tasa de incidencia; sin embargo, algunos estudios europeos y norteamericanos han demostrado la presencia de diabetes no diagnosticada en cerca de 50% de pacientes declarados como sanos. Siendo la DM2 parte de un grupo de desórdenes heterogéneos que comparten el fenotipo de hiperglucemia y son causados por una interacción de factores genéticos, ambientales y estilos de vida. Por tal razón se llevó a cabo esta investigación de campo con nivel correlacional y cohorte transversal, que evaluó la relación que existe entre los niveles de Citocinas TNF - α, IFN – γ e IL-10 y las complicaciones asociadas, siendo estas enfermedad renal y dislipidemia en pacientes con DM2.
- PublicaciónRestringidoComparación In Vitro de la Capacidad Invasiva de dos Formulaciones de Base del Hongo Beauveria Bassiana Como Control Biológico de Opsiphanes Cassina.(Cúcuta: Universidad de Sántander, 2017, 2017-06-22) Gómez Tinoco, Diego Alejandro; Contreras García, Cielo Viviana; Diaz Castañeda, Claudia-Elizabeth; Contreras Rangel, Jael.The invasive capacity of two formulations (powder and liquid) based on Beauveria bassiana on this pest insect Opsiphanes cassina was compared in the laboratory, microbiological tests were performed, which yielded similar values in the two formulations, invasive capacity through the germination or viability test where the solid formulation yielded 100% and 80% of germinated spores, while the liquid formulation showed a similar value between 98% and 97.4% of germinated spores, act as an insect controller. The microbiological quality was evaluated by the purity test, which showed values of 100% in the two formulations, being established as a suitable proportion of the biological agent. Similarly, the Beauveria bassiana spore concentration test reached a concentration of 1010 in the two formulations, indicating that high concentrations were obtained, which were effective on Opsiphanes cassina, with a higher mortality in the liquid formulation, which corresponded to 100% at 6 days after application of the product, on the contrary, the solid formulation was found 80% at 6 days. In conclusion, in the microbiological tests it was observed that both presentations did not present significant differences, however, the liquid formulation is considered better because its production is achieved in less time and the mortality of the insects occurs in 6 days.
- PublicaciónRestringidoDesarrollo de una harina para la alimentacion humana a base de sacha inchi (PLUKENETIA VOLUBILIS) con microorganismos probióticos.(Cúcuta: Universidad de Santander, 2019, 2019-10-23) Carrillo Prieto, Maria Patricia.; Florez Torres, Karla Michel.; Diaz Castañeda, Claudia-Elizabeth; Contreras Rangel, Jael.Sacha inchi (Plukenetia volubilis) is a plant native to the Amazon rainforest whose seeds are rich in oil (49%) and protein (33%), and have been part of the ancestral diet of many native groups in the region. Currently in Colombia, Sacha inchi is cultivated in the department of Putumayo and there are proposals for implementation in the Catatumbo Norte area of Santander. Objective: to develop a flour for human consumption based on Sacha inchi with probiotic microorganisms. Materials and Methods: an experimental study where 716.7 grams distributed in four treatments each in triplicate was taken to determine the viability before a food matrix, was structured in six phases, ranging from the analysis of the quality of the seeds to the bromatological and microbiological characterization of the formula made with residual cake flour from Sacha inchi. Results: an average was observed for each of the physical characteristics of the seed; length: 1,515 cm, thickness: 0.69 cm and 15 width: 1.3 cm; In the same way, the yield of the residual cake of the seed was highlighted, with a percentage of 52%, this cake showed in the microbiological analysis gradual results of moisture, protein, ash, fat, fiber, carbohydrates and caloric heat, in the same way it was possible to denote non-growth and the absence of microorganisms in the microbiological analysis performed.
- PublicaciónRestringidoDeterminacion in vitro del efecto del fluor sobre la adherencia y formacion de biopeliculas a partir de Streptococcus Mutans, Lactobacilus Acidophilus y Candida Albicans en materiales Sinteticos.(Cúcuta: Universidad de Santander, 2015, 2015-12-14) Mesa Acevedo, Shirley Karina.; Diaz Castañeda, Claudia-Elizabeth; Contreras Rangel, Jael.Esta investigación se realizó para encontrar la concentración de flúor que inhibe o disminuye la adherencia bacteriana a materiales sintéticos, utilizados en la reparación de dientes cariados; Se utilizaron 12 cilindros de cada material sintético: resina fluida y sellante convencional, algunos de ellos fueron fluorados a las siguientes concentraciones: 1,5%, 0,8% y 0,2%, otros no se sometieron a fluoracion, ya terminado este proceso todos los cilindros se sumergieron en un pool de microorganismos, conformado por: saliva estéril, Streptococcus mutans, Lactobacillus acidophilus y Candidas albicans, siendo estos algunos de los microorganismos que interviene en el proceso cariogenico. La metodología utilizada fue la técnica gota en placa o método de Miles y Misra, el cual se realizó cada dos días, los medios de cultivo utilizados para el aislamiento bacteriano fueron: Agar MRS, Agar Saboureaud Glucosa y Agar sangre de cordero, la lectura se realizó a las 24 horas, tras terminar cada siembra, con esto se logró calcular el número de acumulación global en la biopelicula, se encontró que ninguna de las concentraciones utilizadas inhibe el crecimiento bacteriano, pero las concentraciones 1,5% y 0,8 disminuyen significativamente el crecimiento, No se evidencio diferencia significativa en cuanto a crecimiento bacteriano en los cilindros de material sintéticos fluorados al 0.2% con los cilindros que no fueron sometidos a fluoracion, por último se observó un mayor crecimiento en el material sintético: sellante convencional tanto en los grupos fluorados y no fluorados frente al material sintético: Resina fluida.

Estudios realizados han reportado hallazgos de Cryptococcus neoformans de aislamientos ambientales, que corresponden en su gran mayoría a los recuperados de excretas de palomas y suelos contaminados con excretas de palomas, y en los detritos de árboles así como de vegetales y frutas. En Cúcuta, entre los años 2008 y 2009, se logró recuperar un aislamiento de Cryptococcus gattii serotipo B y tres aislamientos de Cryptococcus neoformans var. grubii de serotipo A. El objetivo general de la investigación es realizar el aislamiento de las especies del complejo C.neoformans, específicamente C. gattii, C. neoformans var neoformans y C. neoformans var grubii, a partir de muestras de cortezas de árboles, muestras de tierra, frutos secos y excretas de aves de los parques Simón Bolívar, Antonia Santos, La Victoria y Nacional, los cuales son 4 parques públicos muy concurridos de San José de Cúcuta.

These protozoa have the ability to form endosymbiotic relationships with whole pathogenic microorganisms and also possess the capacity to form biofilms, which make them difficult complexes to eliminate from established environments, the importance of this study is based on analyzing and identifying AVL in drinking water of the municipalities of Cúcuta and the patios.
- PublicaciónRestringidoDeterminación de Amebas de vida libre y Bacterias Endosimbióticas en aguas del área Periurbana del RIO PAMPLONITA, NORTE DE SANTANDER.(Cúcuta: Universidad de Santander, 2017, 2017-11-30) Chacón Higuera, Wendy Lisbeth.; Alfonso Nova, Leidy Tatiana.; Perdomo Domínguez Yojanna.; Contreras Rangel, Jael.Las amebas de vida libre son microorganismos ubicuos, que se han relacionado con patologías mortales para el ser humano, y su potencial virulento se vincula directamente con su capacidad termotolerante y la relación de endosimbiosis que puede crear con bacterias resistentes a la lisis amebiana, lo cual puede ser fatal para la salud. Como objetivo se planteó determinar amebas de vida libre y bacterias endosimbióticas en aguas del área periurbana del rio Pamplonita. Para ello se realizaron dos muestreos en los cuales se recolectaron muestras de agua de siete puntos del rio Pamplonita, específicamente puntos del área periurbana, se empleó el método de filtración por membrana y se sembró en medios de cultivo de agar no nutritivo con sales necesarias para la viabilidad de las amebas. Al analizar los factores microbiológicos del agua se halló alta presencia de coliformes, lo cual favorece el crecimiento de amebas de vida libre en el río.

However, this microorganisms phagocyte another ones: fungi, bacteria and virus, but the last ones can do endosymbiotic relationship, and the amoebae confers resistance to their habitat and increase the pathogenic potential, that’s why it constitutes a huge problem to Public Health. The aim of this study was demonstrate the presence of free living amoebae and endosymbiotic bacterias potentially pathogenic in samples: Bocatoma El Rosal, Monteadentro, La Naciente, Estación Limnimétrica Curva Los Adioses, Pamplonita, El Diamante and Pamplonita, to characterize their distribution. Developing a field-descriptive study through of recollection of water samples and filtrated to inoculate No nutritive Agar enrichment with inactive Escherichia coli.

Reciben su nombre por la localización habitual como saprofitos en el tubo digestivo, aunque se trata de gérmenes ubicuos, encontrándose de forma universal en el suelo, el agua y la vegetación, así como formando parte de la microbiota intestinal de muchos animales además del hombre.; El propósito de este estudio se basa en determinar la presencia de los genes blaTEM y blaCTX-M en Enterobacterias. Objetivo: Determinar blaTEM y blaCTX-M en Enterobacteriaceae productoras de betalactamasas de espectro extendido en aislados clínicos de la IPS Loma de Bolívar, 2018-2019. Métodos: Las técnicas empleadas fueron antibiograma por disco-difusión, extracción de ADN bacteriano, reacción en cadena de la polimerasa y electroforesis en gel de agarosa. Resultados: Se demuestra la alta prevalencia de enterobacterias productoras de BLEE en las treinta muestras recolectadas (100%), lo cual indica que existe una alta resistencia bacteriana en estos aislados clínicos. Existe una presencia de los genes blaTEM y blaCTX-M en un 3,33% y 3,33%, respectivamente. Conclusiones: Este estudio permitió demostrar que el análisis de los fenotipos de resistencia a los betalactámicos, debido a las asociaciones con betalactamasas de amplio espectro entre diferentes tipos de BLEE y otros mecanismos, es de gran complejidad y no permite inferir el tipo de BLEE implicado. La BLEE del tipo TEM fue la más prevalente en nuestra ciudad, indicando que representan el mayor porcentaje de resistencia por esta enzima.
