    Due to the current conditions regarding the quality and supply of water, the Community Board of Acapulco downtown, Girón - Santander, by means of an agreement requested the collaboration of the University of Santander (UDES) of Civil Engineering program to carry out the design of a system of adduction, conduction and network of lane water distribution for the community, with the support in the forestry subject with students of Forest Engineering of the Industrial University of Santander (UIS) (Málaga Section) , which served as the basis for the presentation of a preliminary plan for reforestation and improvement of water quality. That is why the fundamental objective of this document is to carry out a project that guarantees a solution to the problem raised to improve the supply of water for the village center of Acapulco Girón - Santander, taking into account the specifications of current technical and legal standards in Colombia and the engineering guidelines to such elaboration. The main problem of the distribution network that this residential conglomerate currently has is that none of its networks comply with the current Colombian technical specifications and the quality of the water is not suitable for consumption, therefore the authors of this work, executed the necessary activities in three phases: diagnosis, planning and design, applying technical knowledge proposing improvements that guarantee economic and environmental social sustainability for the area, in addition to ensuring the proper functioning of the network and being an element in the comprehensive management of water resources to conserve and preserve the use of water for future generations.

    Factibilidad para el diseño del acueducto del corregimiento de Llano Palmas en Rio Negro Santander

    What is implemented for the corregimiento of Llano Palmas, aims to improve the level of quality of the population, understanding that an aqueduct is made in order to provide an efficient way of drinking water, as in any community is a right It is very important to have a water supply system that meets your vital needs. The township of Rionegro, has not projected within its plan of development of existential infrastructure of necessary water to these paths; In addition to this reality, nowadays the population has been affected in times of drought that its source of water is not enough to supply the minimum consumption required. The objective of this project is to capture the water in the Santa Cruz de la Colina, district of the township of Matanza and design the best alternative to ensure the optimum supply of drinking water to the families of the Llano Palmas district, for which it will be delivered to the population, the design of the aqueduct network (collection, adduction, conduction and delivery to the storage tank) based on compliance with the Basic Drinking Water and Sanitation Regulations RAS 2000 and RAS 2017. With this information, the community will be able to manage resources for its financing and construction, contributing not only to improve the quality of life of a community, but also to an intellectual and personal growth for the students involved in the development of the project. That will set the tone as a good start to your professional life.

    Optimización de la Cobertura y Abastecimiento del Servicio Público de Agua Potable en el Municipio de los Santos, Santander

    The municipality of Los Santos, Santander, located in the area of the Chicamocha canyon, an area that due to the forms of the land surface, generates limitations to transport water from existing water sources to supply the population permanently; situation that framed in some anthropic causes, have generated deficits in the coverage of the aqueduct service, for which it was necessary to develop four stages, in order to mitigate this situation; first the identification of the environmental characteristics of the municipality was made, then the current state of the infrastructure in the local distribution network of drinking water was described, followed by the evaluation of the impact caused by the anthropogenic causes in front of the water deficit in the municipality and finally, a public policy proposal was formulated to improve the coverage and supply of the public drinking water service in the municipality of Los Santos, Santander. With the above, it was concluded that there are two main anthropic factors that cause deficit of water resources in the municipality, one of them is the development of agricultural activities, explicitly activities related to poultry and livestock, these activities require large amounts of water. On the other hand, it was established that the excessive growth of land subdivisions, in the area of La Mesa, has generated a demand for water resources, which is mostly used for recreation and tourism. In addition, a large amount of discharges is generated which, without carrying out any previous treatment, are generally arranged on the ground. The aforementioned basis the need to develop the public policy proposal to mitigate the problems of coverage and supply of public drinking water service in the municipality of Los Santos, based on the formation of general and strategic alliances.
