Objective: To identify the impact on the level of caregiver overload after participation in an educational workshop that seeks to strengthen knowledge, value and patience in family caregivers with CNCDS in the community, Hospital Universitario De Bucaramanga S. A in 2017-2019. Methodology: Quantitative, experimental, clinical trial type study, with a group of 84 carers, 39 in the intervened group and 45 in the control. The instruments used for data collection were the GCPC-UN-D1, the datasheet presses, the datasheet test SPMSQ and the overload assessment scale of the caregiver Zarit. Descriptive analysis was performed and statistical tests were applied. Results: Most caregivers are female, with a median at the age of 50 (RI: 45-58). 70% of patients did not have dysfunction or dependency and had intact mental functionality. It showed the effectiveness of the interventions, shown by the decrease in the overload, in the group intervened the prevalence of overload at the start was 56.4% and change to 41.03%, in the control step from 51.1% to 37.7%. (P-value of McNemar = 0.0339). Discussion: It is necessary to continue to implement activities to impact the burden of caregiver and review of interventions in relation to the time and place of the same to continue improving the effectiveness of these.
