La presente investigación tiene como objetivo determinar el uso de internet como fuente de información externa por parte de la generación millennial de la ciudad de Valledupar, para lo cual se realizará una investigación descriptiva, utilizando la encuesta como instrumento de recolección de información aplicada a una muestra de 382 individuos residentes en la ciudad con el promedio de edad establecido. Además, los resultados obtenidos servirán de base para la realización de otras investigaciones relacionadas con el proceso de búsqueda y el internet como fuente de información externa más utilizada. En la actualidad, la información es un recurso transcendental para los consumidores y las empresas, tanto que para los clientes la búsqueda interna es insuficiente y no suple con sus expectativas. Por ende, busca adquirir información por medio del entorno usando de diversas fuentes de información a las cuales pueden acceder en todos sus procesos de búsqueda. En consecuencia y con la aparición de internet, los consumidores comenzaron a usar esta red como un canal para obtener información sobre productos o servicios de su interés, tanto que hoy día, es una de las fuentes externas más utilizadas debido a su facilidad, rapidez y veracidad, logrando la satisfacción inmediata para quienes la utilizan. De igual modo, el fácil acceso de la información por medio del internet, los teléfonos inteligentes, las redes sociales, entre otros, han permitido un cambio en la sociedad actual y en su modo de interacción. The objective of this research is to determine the use of the internet as a source of external information by the millennial generation of the city of Valledupar, for which a descriptive investigation will be carried out, using the survey as an instrument for collecting information applied to a sample. of 382 individuals residing in the city with the average age established. In addition, the results obtained will serve as the basis for carrying out other investigations related to the search process and the internet as the most used source of external information. At present, information is a transcendental resource for consumers and companies, so much so that for the clients the internal search is insufficient and does not meet their expectations. Therefore, it seeks to acquire information through the environment using different sources of information to which they can access in all their search processes. Consequently and with the emergence of the internet, consumers began to use this network as a channel to obtain information about products or services of interest, so much so that today, it is one of the most used external sources due to its ease, speed and veracity, achieving immediate satisfaction for those who use it. Similarly, the easy access of information through the Internet, smart phones, social networks, among others, have allowed a change in the current society and its way of interaction.
