Given the importance of sutures for the surgical instrumenter and ICT as a teaching method, the existence of a technological tool that reinforces learning about them is vital, this work aims to create a software-type computer model that strengthens said process, focused on students of Surgical Instrumentation of III and IV semester, available for those interested. Objective: design a functional suture app-type software that integrates the use of ICT in the teaching and meaningful learning process in the students of the Surgical Instrumentation program. Methodology: A cross-sectional descriptive quantitative study developed in the second half of 2018 and the first half of 2020, three survey-type measurement instruments were used to consolidate information; the first was applied in five institutions with a teaching-service agreement, the second and third were carried out on a study sample made up of 65 students from the third and fourth semesters of the program. Results: Although there are these types of tools in the university library, their access is limited, scarce and not originally from the UDES. The sutures most used by the institutions are those belonging to the Johnson and Johnson and Covidien trade houses; the students, despite finding significant results, there are still shortcomings on the subject. In conclusion, it is evident that the students of the program need a tool specifically elaborated about sutures, in order to facilitate their learning, in addition to the interest expressed by the students in its design.
