La Lactancia Materna (LM) siendo un alimento fundamental en la vida de cada menor, puesto que aporta los nutrientes necesarios para fortalecer el sistema inmunológico del ser humano, está siendo abandonada; Al realizar un análisis de los factores que contribuyen al abandono precoz de la LM se encontró que estos pueden depender de la madre, del recién nacido (RN) y del entorno familiar. Por tal motivo se realizó la siguiente investigación la cual buscó determinar el nivel de conocimientos sobre la Lactancia Materna en madres adolescentes en una comuna en la ciudad de Valledupar, Cesar dicha investigación se ejecutó mediante un estudio descriptivo de corte transversal, donde se tuvo una población de 155 madres entre los 11 a 19 años; se aplicó una encuesta para la recolección de datos sociodemográficos de la madre y del menor, además, se aplicó el IIFAS el cual es un cuestionario que mide las actitudes que tienen las madres frente a la lactancia materna. Dentro de los resultados de la investigación se encontró que la mayoría de las madres tenían un valor promedio de 17,56±1,3 años con máximos y mínimos entre 19 y 13 años respectivamente. Además, con relación al IIFAS se encontró que la gran mayoría de las madres tienen una actitud neutra frente a la lactancia.

Breastfeeding (LM) being a fundamental food in the life of each child, since it provides the necessary nutrients to strengthen the immune system of the human being, it is being abandoned; When performing an analysis of the factors that contribute to the early abandonment of the LM, it was found that these can depend on the mother, the newborn (RN) and the family environment. For this reason the following research was conducted which sought to determine the level of knowledge about breastfeeding in adolescent mothers in a town in the city of Valledupar, Cesar said research was carried out through a descriptive cross-sectional study, where a population was had of 155 mothers between the ages of 11 and 19; a survey was applied for the collection of sociodemographic data of the mother and the child, in addition, the IIFAS was applied which is a questionnaire that measures the attitudes that mothers have against breastfeeding. Within the results of the research it was found that the majority of mothers had an average value of 17.56 ± 1.3 years with maximum and minimum between 19 and 13 years respectively.
