The present study aimed to identify the accessibility and architectural barriers of the environment of students with disabilities, with exceptional abilities or talents that attend two private educational institutions of San José de Cúcuta, it was carried out through direct observation, using the accessibility and physical adaptations in two private educational institutions for people with disabilities, Cúcuta 2019, through a checklist where measures were taken of the infrastructure of the institutions, the study presents a quantitative approach of descriptive type. The unit of analysis were two private educational institutions, then the databases of students enrolled with disabilities, with exceptional abilities or talents of the two institutions, were provided, through which tabulation was made in tables and graphs with the program Microsoft Excel 2018. In the results it was found that in both institutions there are students enrolled with disabilities, with exceptional abilities or talents; in institution 1 it was found that the diagnosis that predominates with 79% is intellectual disability, then 21% of students are in diagnostic processes, later it was found that they have flaws in physical adaptations such as bathroom doors , the height of the sink, water troughs and the ramps therefore it is necessary to make improvements in the aforementioned items, in turn this institution complies with the accessibility of the environment and signage.

El presente estudio se propuso identificar la accesibilidad y barreras arquitectónicas del entorno de los estudiantes con discapacidad, con capacidades o talentos excepcionales que asisten a dos instituciones educativas de carácter privado de San José de Cúcuta, se realizó mediante observación directa, empleando el instrumento accesibilidad y adaptaciones físicas en dos instituciones educativas de carácter privado para personas con discapacidad, Cúcuta 2019, por medio de una lista de cotejo donde se tomaron medidas de la infraestructura de las instituciones, el estudio presenta un enfoque cuantitativo de tipo descriptiva. La unidad de análisis fueron dos instituciones educativas de carácter privado, posteriormente fueron suministradas las bases de datos de los estudiantes matriculados con discapacidad, con capacidades o talentos excepcionales de las dos instituciones, mediante el cual se efectuó la tabulación en cuadros y gráficas con el programa Microsoft Excel 2018. En los resultados se halló que en las dos instituciones se encuentran estudiantes matriculados con discapacidad, con capacidades o talentos excepcionales; en la institución 1 se encontró que el diagnóstico que predomina con un 79% es la discapacidad intelectual, seguidamente el 21% de los estudiantes se encuentran en procesos de diagnóstico, posterior se evidenció que presentan falencias en las adaptaciones físicas como las puertas de los baños, la altura del lavamanos, bebederos de agua y las rampas por lo tanto se requiere hacer mejoras en los ítems mencionados, a su vez esta institución cumple con accesibilidad del entorno y señalización.
