Valoración del Estado Nutricional de la Población de Primera Infancia del Municipio Girón, Santander, Basada en Indicadores Hematológicos, Bioquímicos y Antropométricos

La alimentación constituye el principal elemento que contribuye al desarrollo corporal de los niños; sin embargo, existe una alteración de ésta causada por la malnutrición. Por esto, el objetivo principal fue describir el estado nutricional de los niños de primera infancia en el municipio de Girón, Santander a partir de indicadores hematológicos, bioquímicos y antropométricos. Esto se realizó con una muestra total de 236 niños entre los 0 y 5 años, quienes pertenecen al municipio de Girón, Santander. Se trabajó una metodología cuantitativa de tipo descriptivo y corte transversal mediante pruebas de laboratorio y aplicación de la ENSIN. Para el análisis estadístico, se usó el Software SPSS y el Software ANTHRO. Este estudio demostró que la mayoría de la población se encuentra en condiciones normales con respecto al perfil hematológico y bioquímico, ya que los resultados no presentan alteraciones mayores; sin embargo; en cuanto al perfil antropométrico, se evidencian alteraciones por desnutrición y / o hipernutrición; además, no hubo asociaciones estadísticamente significativas entre las variables de interés. Este estudio permitió identificar algunos casos de hipernutrición, así como deficiencias en los indicadores de talla para la edad. Es importante establecer un control y vigilancia sobre los hábitos alimenticios de la población, teniendo en cuenta que una alimentación desequilibrada acompañada de inactividad física constituye las principales causas de malnutrición.

Food is the main element that contributes to the bodily development of children; however, there is an alteration of this caused by malnutrition. Therefore, the main objective was to describe the nutritional status of early childhood children in the municipality of Girón, Santander from hematological, biochemical and anthropometric indicators. This was done with a total sample of 236 children between 0 and 5 years old, who belong to the municipality of Girón, Santander. A descriptive and cross-sectional quantitative methodology was used through laboratory tests and the application of the ENSIN. For statistical analysis, SPSS Software and ANTHRO Software were used. This study showed that the majority of the population is in normal conditions with respect to the hematological and biochemical profile, since the results do not present major alterations; Nevertheless; Regarding the anthropometric profile, there are alterations due to malnutrition and / or hypernutrition; furthermore, there were no statistically significant associations between the variables of interest. This study made it possible to identify some cases of overnutrition, as well as deficiencies in the height-for-age indicators. It is important to establish control and vigilance over the eating habits of the population, bearing in mind that an unbalanced diet accompanied by physical inactivity constitutes the main causes of malnutrition.
