Esta investigación contempló los procesos de enseñanza y aprendizaje del área de ciencias naturales para el grado quinto de primaria en la Sede rural El Cedro de la Institución Educativa Nicolás Manrique en el municipio de Gigante Huila. El objetivo del estudio fue determinar el fortalecimiento de las competencias del entorno vivo de los estudiantes a partir de la utilización de la aplicación ARLOON ANATOMY en el proceso de aprendizaje. En este sentido, se aportó a la práctica docente a través del enriquecimiento de las estrategias pedagógicas con una secuencia didáctica que incluyó la utilización de la aplicación ARLOON ANATOMY, contribuyendo a superar la problemática del aprendizaje memorístico para dar paso a un aprendizaje significativo. De la investigación participaron los once estudiantes que conformaron el grado quinto de primaria, desarrollándose una investigación que integra los enfoques cuantitativo y cualitativo, en donde se aplicó el cuestionario, el diario de campo y las fichas de registro como instrumentos para la recolección de información. Los resultados hicieron evidente que la realidad aumentada despierta un gran interés, motivación y disposición de los estudiantes por aprender y demostró que estos lograron una apropiación y comprensión satisfactoria de las competencias del entorno vivo, correspondiente a la estructura, funcionamiento, organización, cuidados y enfermedades del sistema digestivo, sistema respiratorio y sistema circulatorio del cuerpo humano, lo que lleva a concluir que la realidad aumentada mejora considerablemente el aprendizaje de los estudiantes. El estudio aportó al cambio de las prácticas educativas memorísticas y tradicionales de la institución educativa Nicolás Manrique y apuntó a la obtención de mejores resultados académicos al fomentar una educación de mejor calidad.

This research contemplated the teaching and learning processes in the area of natural sciences for the fifth grade of primary school in the El Cedro rural headquarters of the Nicolás Manrique Educational Institution in the municipality of Gigante Huila. The objective of the study was to determine the strengthening of the competences of the students' living environment from the use of the ARLOON ANATOMY application in the learning process. In this sense, it contributed to teaching practice through the enrichment of pedagogical strategies with a didactic sequence that included the use of the ARLOON ANATOMY application, helping to overcome the problem of rote learning to give way to meaningful learning. Eleven students who made up the fifth grade of primary school participated in the research, developing an investigation that integrates the quantitative and qualitative approaches, where the questionnaire, the field diary and the registration cards were applied as instruments for the collection of information. The results made it evident that augmented reality arouses great interest, motivation and disposition of the students to learn and showed that they achieved a satisfactory appropriation and understanding of the competences of the living environment, corresponding to the structure, functioning, organization, care and diseases of the digestive system, respiratory system and circulatory system of the human body, leading to the conclusion that augmented reality greatly improves student learning. The study contributed to the change of the memoristic and traditional educational practices of the Nicolás Manrique educational institution and aimed at obtaining better academic results by promoting a better quality education
