A través del presente estudio de caracterización social y económica de los estudiantes se llevó a cabo el cumplimiento de todos los objetivos propuestos y se estableció el perfil socioeconómico de los estudiantes de Mercadeo y Publicidad, basado en información real; tomando este estudio como una herramienta que ayudara en el proceso del continuo y constante mejoramiento del programa de Mercadeo y Publicidad. La metodología utilizada para analizar la información suministrada por el Centro de Investigación de Mercadeo y Publicidad (CIMEP) consistió en el análisis y tabulación de un modelo de encuesta que fue aplicado al total de estudiantes de la facultad de comunicaciones, artes y diseño del programa de Mercadeo y Publicidad de la universidad de Santander UDES en el periodo A del año 2017. De esta forma se obtuvo evidencia de la información personal, familiar, académica, económica y finalmente información de actitudes y preferencias, donde se resaltan los intereses de los estudiantes por realizar diplomados de los diferentes temas de Mercadeo Y Publicidad actuales. Por otra parte, es preciso mencionar que gran parte de los estudiantes del programa son particularmente jóvenes y hacen parte de un grupo heterogéneo nacido entre los años 1981-1999 que comprende las edades de 18-36 años, denominado “Millennials” pues solo el 9,01 % tiene menos de 18 años de edad. Para finalizar, cabe indicar que a pesar de que la UDES es la única universidad en la ciudad que ofrece el programa de Mercadeo y Publicidad, éste no se compone de un gran número de estudiantes, 152 alumnos conforman en la actualidad esta carrera profesional, por lo que han sido diseñadas estrategias de comunicación que contribuyan el aumento del número de estudiantes para los años siguientes.

Through the present study of social and economic characterization of the students the accomplishment of all the proposed objectives was carried out and the socioeconomic profile of the students of Marketing and Advertising was established, based on real information; Taking this study as a tool that will help in the process of continuous and continuous improvement of the Marketing and Advertising program. The methodology used to analyze the information provided by the Center for Research in Marketing and Advertising (CIMEP) consisted of the analysis and tabulation of a survey model that was applied to the total number of students of the faculty of communications, arts and design of the program of Marketing and Advertising of the University of Santander UDES in period A of the year 2017. In this way, we obtained evidence of personal, family, academic, economic information and finally information on attitudes and preferences, highlighting the students' interests for graduating from the different topics of Marketing and Advertising. On the other hand, it is necessary to mention that a great part of the students of the program are particularly young and are part of a heterogeneous group born between the years 1981-1999 that includes the ages of 18-36 years, denominated "Millennials" since only the 9, 01% are under 18 years of age. Finally, it should be noted that although the UDES is the only university in the city that offers the Marketing and Advertising program, it is not composed of a large number of students, 152 students, currently make up this professional career, So that communication strategies have been designed that contribute to the increase in the number of students for the following years.
