The present work was carried out in the municipality of Charalá Santander, for which it was determined to perform photointerpretation of the territory, by means of spatial analysis with GIS geographic information systems tools using GPS RTK technology in order to establish how the transformation of the urban expansion of the municipality through time On the other hand, the criteria derived from the Territorial Ordinance standards issued by the National Planning Department (DNP) were analyzed in order to know how the municipality is currently with respect to its cartography, given that through the Territorial Ordinance Plan ( POT) identifies the main urban planning policies of the municipality such as: restrictions, land use, zoning and environmental factors; if it is taken into account that the Territorial Ordinance Scheme (EOT) that the municipality has is governed by an EOT was formulated in 2003; which was adjusted in 2015, incorporating rural properties into the urban perimeter, a situation that reveals the urban disorder that municipalities suffer from. In order to reach this objective initially, the cartographic information was verified by confronting it with aerial images of the territory; by overlaying maps in ArcGis; As most of the supplies were not georeferenced, we proceeded to the assignment of coordinate and datum values in ArcGis. For updating the cartographic map. the field work was carried out in order to establish the zones to be visited and proceed to determine in each case, new urban developments and carry out the respective survey for those cases in which there were no available images of a certain area, later it was digitized from the map of the municipality.
