Over the past few years, people have been sought the way to reduce the environmental damage caused by humans. For this reason, we have been investigating and creating new building materials; lightweight materials, which consist in the reduction of the common elements used in the building processes, in this case we have worked with polyethylene terephthalate (PET / 1). The aim of this research project is to analyze the resistance recycled plastic (PET), which has been used as raw material for the elaboration of a solid block, finding that its resistance to compression was 225.3 KN, comparing it to a traditional clay block which was also tested to the same proof and obtaining as a result 155.5 KN. This new way of using PET would be used in masonry and / or pedestrian paths, and this could help us to keep a healthy environment and give a different architectural aspect to the place where you want use it. With this new way of manufacturing building materials, and knowing that their weight was reduced by 41% compared to a common block, it is obtained that it is easier to transport. To reach this process, the NORMA TECNICA COLOMBIANA has been taken into account in its sections NTC 4076, NTC 4205, NTC 4205 - 2, NTC 6033 and also CONTITUCION NACIONAL OF COLOMBIA in its Article 78, 79 and 80 which have collective and environment rights.
