Resumen en ingles
The victimizing events in Colombia were multiple by different armed groups, including the AUC and the FARC guerrilla. These illegal armed groups had a large number of crimes against International Humanitarian Law and Humanity Law, causing enormous damage to the civilian population, natural resources and the breach of institutional order. The Colombian State, in order to put an end to the conflicts, proffered Law 975 of 2002, to which the AUC were accepted. The benefits of this Law are focused on the retributive penalties in exchange for Truth and Reparation, this with the purpose of granting justice to the victims, in which it was stipulated that the minimum sentence would be for 5 years and the maximum for 8 years, independent of the number and typification of the crime committed. In the case of the Guerrilla of the FARC, a final peace agreement was signed on November 24, 2016, in which case the court that will administer justice is the JEP. No judgments have yet been issued, it is expected that this Tribunal will know about the different facts and according to its normativity, make decisions that seek truth, justice, reparation and guarantees of non-repetition.
