The social representations arise from different sociocultural spheres, different customs that lead us to a variety of intangible factors that influence and give meaning to the actions, also allows us to discern perceptions. The Human Papillomavirus (HPV) is part of a set of viruses that have double-band DNA and that belong to the Papovaviridae family, which do not have an envelope, but have an approximate diameter of 52-55 nm. The importance of HPV at the research level in health sciences is because it is the cause of several types of cancer, including cervical cancer. This specific type of cancer is very common in women and generates great efforts at an epidemiological level, in detection, diagnosis, treatment and women's health. General Interpret the social representations of the HPV of the teachers of the University of Santander, Cucuta campus 2019. SPECIFIC: A. Reveal the different myths and beliefs about HPV that the teachers of the University of Santander have, Cucuta campus 2019. B. Assess the different social representations of the HPV of the teachers of the University of Santander, Cucuta campus 2019. C. Analyze the attitudes and practices that the teachers of the University of Santander have on HPV, Cucuta campus 2019. For the development of this project a qualitative paradigm was addressed, since it is immersed in our daily professional practices, which allows us to reconstruct, articulate and reflect on the topics that support the qualitative research approach which are so related to the usual work scenarios. Regarding objective number 1, different categories were generated that reflect the different myths and beliefs related to HPV, of which they have knowledge and can speak openly among these are: 1. reality 2. scientific disease 3. mind human 4. latent reality 5. silent disease, some of the participants expressed doubts about different beliefs that come from non-scientific reasons for the disease; in objective number 2, knowledge is scientific, but it falls short of it, since none said anything in relation to the great daily life of HPV. Finally, in the third objective, attitudes and practices favor disease prevention. The professors of the University of Santander expressed sexual lifestyles that favor their personal, work and social life, which represent an accurate knowledge about HPV, it cannot be ruled out that the culture of this educational community retains strong ties between the mythical and religiou.

Las representaciones sociales surgen desde diferentes ámbitos socioculturales, distintas costumbres que nos conlleva a una variedad de factores intangibles que influyen y dan sentido a las acciones, así mismo nos permite discernir las percepciones. El Virus del Papiloma Humano (VPH) hace parte de un conjunto de virus que tienen ADN de doble banda y que pertenecen a la familia Papovaviridae, los cuales no poseen envoltura, pero tienen un diámetro aproximado de 52-55 nm. La importancia del VPH a nivel investigativo en ciencias de la salud es por tratarse del causante de varios tipos de cáncer, dentro de los que se cuenta el de cuello uterino. Este tipo de cáncer en específico es muy frecuente en las mujeres y generan grandes esfuerzos a nivel epidemiológico, en detección, diagnóstico, tratamiento y la salud de la mujer. General Interpretar las representaciones sociales del VPH de los docentes de la Universidad de Santander, campus Cúcuta 2019. Específicos: A. Revelar los diferentes mitos y creencias sobre el VPH que tienen los docentes de la Universidad de Santander, campus Cúcuta 2019. B. Valorar las diferentes representaciones sociales del VPH de los docentes de la Universidad de Santander, campus Cúcuta 2019. C. Analizar las actitudes y prácticas que tienen sobre el VPH los docentes de la Universidad de Santander, campus Cúcuta 2019. Para el desarrollo de este proyecto se abordó un paradigma cualitativo, ya que está inmersa en nuestras prácticas profesionales cotidianas, lo cual permite reconstruir, articular y reflexionar sobre los tópicos que fundamentan el enfoque cualitativo de investigación los cuales tan relacionados con los escenarios habituales de trabajo. Respecto al objetivo número 1, se generaron distintas categorías que reflejan los diferentes mitos y creencias, relacionados con VPH, de la cual ellos tienen conocimiento y pueden hablar abiertamente entre estas se encuentran: 1. realidad 2. enfermedad científica 3.mente humana 4.realidad latente 5.enfermedad silenciosa, algunos de los participantes manifestaron dudas sobre creencias diferentes que provienen de razones no científicas de la enfermedad; en el objetivo número 2 los conocimientos son científicos, pero se quedan cortos en el mismo, pues ninguno manifestó nada en relación a la gran cotidianidad de VPH. Por último, en el tercer objetivo las actitudes y prácticas favorecen la prevención de la enfermedad. Los docentes de la Universidad de Santander manifestaron estilos de vida sexuales que favorecen su vida personal, laboral y social, que representan un conocimiento acertado sobre el VPH, no se puede descartar que la cultura de esta comunidad educativa conserva fuertes lazos entre lo mítico y religioso.
