The present investigation analyzed the correlation between stress and the presence of depressive symptoms in students of the psychology program (semesters I, II, VIII and IX) at the University of Santander, through a methodology of quantitative approach of pre-experimental design, with a total population of 37 students. The Beck Depression Inventory (BDI II) and the Stress Appreciation Scale EAE (G Scale) were applied. the sample is equivalent to 36 students where it was evidenced that the number of stressors that occurred in said sample is not significant compared with the normative group. Likewise, a positive correlation was found between the two variables to be analyzed, without a statistically significant difference between group 1 and 2 for the stress variable, therefore, it is recommended to carry out future investigations in which the variables with the In order to obtain information that allows to broaden the theoretical panorama and therefore generates programs for the promotion of mental health and the prevention of mental illness.
