El covid-19 se detectó por primera vez en diciembre de 2019, se fue propagando por diferentes regiones, considerándose pandemia por la OMS en el mes de marzo del 2020, siendo un coronavirus altamente contagioso y en la etapa grave de la enfermedad pudiendo causar la muerte. El personal de la salud ha sido un grupo altamente expuesto en la atención de los pacientes, como objetivo de este proyecto de grado se establece analizar la percepción de los estudiantes de práctica de Instrumentación Quirúrgica de la universidad de Santander UDES frente al riesgo de contagio por covid-19. Se realizó un estudio observacional de corte transversal, se empleó un instrumento de medición validado mediante prueba piloto, en el que se incluyeron variables de caracterización de los estudiantes y de percepción de estos frente al riesgo de contagio por Covid-19, se incluyeron de 5, 6.7 y 8 semestre de Instrumentación Quirúrgica de la Universidad de Santander UDES. En los resultados con corte al 31 de mayo de 2021 el 13% de los estudiantes fue diagnosticado por covid-19 y el 86% no presentó síntomas ni contagio; en los entornos familiares el 27% de los estudiantes expresaron que al menos un integrante del grupo familiar fue diagnosticado, frente a un 71% que no se presentaron diagnostico por algún miembro del grupo familiar. El 92% de los estudiantes expresaron conocer el protocolo de la Universidad para la prevención del contagio por Covid-19 en los estudiantes de práctica de las ciencias de la salud, frente a un 6% que expresaron no conocerlo. Dar cumplimiento al protocolo establecido, por parte de los estudiantes es muy importante para reducir el riesgo de contagio frente al Covid-19, hay que tener presente que así se esté vacunado existe un riesgo que se minimiza con el cumplimiento de las directrices establecidas. Covid-19 was detected for the first time in December 2019, it spread through different regions, being considered a pandemic by the WHO in the month of March 2020, being a highly contagious coronavirus and in the serious stage of the disease that can cause the death. Health personnel have been a highly exposed group in the care of patients, as an objective of this degree project it is established to analyze the perception of the students of surgical instrumentation practice at the University of Santander UDES regarding the risk of contagion by covid-19. An observational cross-sectional study was carried out, a measurement instrument validated by a pilot test was used, in which variables of characterization of the students and their perception of the risk of contagion by Covid-19 were included, 5 were included, 6.7 and 8 semester of Surgical Instrumentation of the University of Santander UDES. In the results cut to May 31, 2021, 13% of the students were diagnosed with covid-19 and 86% did not present symptoms or contagion; in family settings, 27% of the students expressed that at least one member of the family group was diagnosed, compared to 71% who were not diagnosed by a member of the family group. 92% of the students expressed knowing the University's protocol for the prevention of contagion by Covid-19 in students practicing health sciences, compared to 6% who expressed not knowing it. Complying with the protocol established by the students is very important to reduce the risk of contagion against covid-19, it must be borne in mind that thus being vaccinated there is a risk that is minimized with compliance with the established guidelines.
