La calidad en la prestación de servicios de salud tiene como fin primordial generar satisfacción en los usuarios y las diferentes políticas giran en torno a este propósito. La investigación tuvo como objetivo evaluar la percepción de los usuarios sobre la calidad de los servicios de medicina general prestados en el área de consulta externa del Hospital Militar Regional de Bucaramanga, durante el segundo semestre de 2016. Se realizó un estudio descriptivo de corte transversal de tipo cuantitativo mediante la aplicación de encuestas individuales, instrumento aplicado de manera aleatoria en diferentes horas y días de la semana durante 2 meses, a los usuarios que fueron atendidos en la consulta médica externa. De acuerdo a la encuesta aplicada y según los ítems de evaluación, se puede observar que en lo referente al acceso al servicio de consulta externa de 100 personas encuestadas, 63% perciben que la accesibilidad para la prestación del servicio es buena, el 85% de la muestra tiene una percepción positiva acerca de la información que el médico le da sobre su enfermedad, el 88% considera que la información sobre el tratamiento a recibir es buena y el 89% se siente satisfecho con la atención médica recibida. De acuerdo con lo anterior, la barrera de la accesibilidad a la prestación de los servicios de salud es un problema del Hospital Militar, local y nacional que se observa en las diferentes IPS, de tal manera que así se cuente con una excelente infraestructura y un personal médico idóneo, si se presentan problemas al ingreso de los usuarios, la percepción del servicio no será buena, generando un grado de insatisfacción que se puede hacer extensivo a los demás servicios del Hospital, debido a que la percepción inicial y el cumplimiento de expectativas fue muy bajo.

The primary objective of quality in the provision of health services is to generate user satisfaction and the different policies revolve around this purpose. The objective of the research was to evaluate the users' perception of the quality of the general medical services provided in the outpatient area of the Military Regional Hospital of Bucaramanga, during the second semester of 2016. A descriptive cross-sectional study of quantitative type was carried out through the application of individual surveys, an instrument randomly applied at different times and days of the week during 2 months, to the users who were attended in the external medical consultation. According to the survey applied and according to the evaluation items, it can be observed that in terms of access to the external consultation service of 100 people surveyed, 63% perceive that accessibility for the provision of the service is good, 85% of the sample has a positive perception about the information that the doctor gives him about his illness, 88% consider that the information about the treatment to receive is good and 89% feel satisfied with the medical attention received. In accordance with the above, the barrier of accessibility to the provision of health services is a problem of the Military Hospital, local and national that is observed in the different IPS, in such a way that there is an excellent infrastructure and a suitable medical personnel, if problems arise at the entrance of users, the perception of the service will not be good, generating a degree of dissatisfaction that can be extended to the other services of the Hospital, because the initial perception and the fulfillment of expectations It was very low.
