And sometimes the deal is impersonal and lacks kindness. Describe the perception of care that Nursing students have, from the second to the tenth semester, of the University of Santander in the second half of 2019. Descriptive, exploratory, quantitative, and cross-sectional study. The Scale of Assessment of the Meaning of Caring (EESC) was used. Census type sampling, obtaining the information of 161 students. Measures of central tendency, percentages were calculated. Statistical tests such as Pearson's Chi square, Fisher, Mann Whitney U test and ANOVA were used to identify differences between the groups. 88.20% (142) are women, with a median of 21 (IR: 19-23) years, 90% (145) are single, 71.8% (115) studied in public school with socioeconomic status level 3 45.3 % (73). The care as affection obtained a lower score, with a median of 38 (IR: 35-40) and the care as a therapeutic intervention was the one with the best score with 41.5 (IR: 38-43). Students in sixth through tenth semesters scored higher than those in second through fifth semesters. The educational level of the mother is related to better scores in the EESC. The results were similar to other authors' studies regarding the scores of the care categories and the characteristics of the participants. Although the scores were not low, it was identified that it can be improved in the category of affection, especially in aspects such as expression of feelings, and avoid impersonal treatment; and, in the category of human characteristic, it is required to promote in the student their own self-care in their health.} institution = {Universidad de Santander}
