    Percepción de la cultura de seguridad del paciente en el servicio de urgencias de una Institución prestadora de Servicio de Salud de cuarto nivel de complejidad, Bucaramanga, 2017

    The Patient Safety Agency provides a guide on the 7 steps of patient safety in primary care, being the first step for the development of a safety culture and its measurement. Objective: To evaluate the perception of the health team about the Safety Culture of the Patient in the emergency department of pediatrics in a health services provider institution of the fourth level of complexity, Bucaramanga, 2017 The methodology is descriptive, quantitative, cross-sectional observational, with prior authorization in the Informed Consent. The instrument to be used as a means of collecting information the Patient Safety Survey; the Spanish version of the Hospital Survey on Patient Safety; which was translated and validated in Spain by the University of Murcia. The Results showed strengths such as perception in patient safety, management actions that favor patient safety, teamwork, Clinical management support, however, within the opportunities to improve, they are, frankness in communication, work between units / service, medication management, problems in shift or transition changes, non-punitive response to errors, organizational learning or continuous improvement and appropriate reporting of adverse events and weaknesses: feedback or communication about mistakes and frankness in communication. It was concluded that the staff reports that they are conducting an adequate job; to achieve a high degree of culture in patient safety, accompanied by management, which is fundamental to provide the necessary support and implement strategies that motivate the staff to make an accurate communication about the errors and frankness of the same, taking as base the orientation to a constant education about the safety of the patient.
