    Factores asociados al consumo de sustancias psicoactivas en adolescentes escolarizados de la ciudad de Bucaramanga

    The problematic of the consumption and abuse of psychoactive substances is a public health problem, generating serious consequences in the health, economy, academic performance, the family and social coexistence of the consumer individual. Objective: Determine the factors associated with the consumption of psychoactive substances. Methodology: Quantitative study, of analytical cross-section, was measured in 12 public educational institutions of Bucaramanga, consisting of 193 adolescents, selected by simple random sampling, calculated with a confidence level of 95%, for the collection of the information, the version was used. Adapted in Spanish from the Drug Use Screening Inventory (DUSI), instrument, the EPIDATA database, DATA, was used to process the information and exported to EPI ANALYSIS to analyze the qualitative information by proportions and the quantitative by means of confidence intervals. Results: It was evidenced that 40.3% of adolescents have consumed alcohol once in their life being the legal substance of the most consumed, for the cigarette 8.4% in 2013, marijuana with 6.3%, with a statistical significance of 0.003, corresponding to the need to consume said substance and tranquilizers 6.3% this indicates that they are illegal drugs of greater use. It was observed that the most relevant factors associated with spa consumption are peers or friends, family group, free time and recreation. Discussion and Conclusion: the frequency of consumption of adolescents with the highest percentage of students for licit substances is alcohol, and marijuana is found for the use of illicit substances; both men and women with a starting age of 14 years were identified. Among the risk factors associated with the consumption of these, are wanting to be part of a social group, the family nucleus as a protective filter and the misuse of free time.
