One of the most pollut-ing industries is brick production since it uses a lot of coal and supplies such as tires to generate energy. In this paper, the design and construction of a cement and PET-flake (Polietiline terephtha-late) brick is expounded. For this purpose, vari-ous compositions were studied through different resistance and compression tests using a PCE-MTS500 tensile testing machine. The results show a resistant product comparable to the commercial one -according to the Colombian Technical Stand-ard NTC 673, regarding compression resistance tests for normal concrete cylinders-; this standard sample presented an optimal compressive stress of 5600 kgf, whereas commercial bricks have a max-imum stress of only 4480 kgf. Comparative costs were also analyzed to those of the current market, offering an excellent cost benefit option as well.
