- PublicaciónAcceso abiertoCaracterización de las habilidades laborales de la población con discapacidad cognitiva leve institucionalizada en Barrancabermeja, 2013(Bucaramanga : Universidad de Santander, 2013, 2013-12-10) Leguízamo Muñoz, Diana Marcela; Mendoza Raigosa, Monica Marcela; Gutiérrez Blanco, Martha Lucia; Aguilar Jiménez, Jhancy RocíoIn Colombia, it is evident that people with slight cognitive disability, have little access to the necessary basic skills training. With lack of job opportunities and framing them into a welfare model by the family – society, creating dependency in instrumental activities of daily life. This work focuses on job skills characterization of people with slight cognitive disability, institutionalized in the city of Barrancabermeja, because everyone has the right to have a decent job, adapted to their needs and benefiting the family and the business sector in the municipality. The methodology was developed under the guidance of a descriptive cross-sectional study, using the Integral Model of Occupational Assessment to collect information, which consists of occupational analysis where worker traits and occupation characteristics are identified; and the occupational assessment that identifies the user’s factors. This model allows us to compare the results in an objective and accurate way, obtaining the characterization of the workplace and the occupational profile of the user. After the research, it was evident the imbalance in occupational behaviors, which are affecting the volitional performance of individuals; however, participants have skills to access to a semi and unskilled job. These results allowed to: develop occupational profiles, which were compared with profiles of different occupations to locate the users in tasks that suit their skills; provide guidance on skills that require training or capacity to perform a specific occupation and contextualize the user, family and educational community regarding to present skills and future business activities by giving reports in non-formal trainings.
- PublicaciónAcceso abiertoA new PCR-RFLP for species-specific diagnosis of South American animal trypanosomiasis(2014) García Sánchez, Liliana Torcoroma; Rincón, Deilis; Durán, Camila; Aguilar Jiménez, Jhancy RocíoThe diagnosis of animal trypanosomiasis in field samples is currently based on clinical suspicion and less frequently on traditional parasitological methods characterized by their very low sensitivity, especially in the subacute and chronic phase of the infection. Molecular tools such as Polymerase Chain Reaction have been shown to reach the highest sensitivity percentages, but without good resolution for all of the South American circulating species (T. vivax, T. evansi and T. theileri) or with specificity for only one of these species. In this study, a new PCR-RFLP for species-specific diagnosis of Trypanosomiasis is presented. This method displayed good resolution, sensitivity and specificity for differentiation of the three aforementioned species identified from naturally infected Colombian bovines and water buffaloes. In addition, epidemiological and clinical data were also collected and analyzed from the sampled animals and significant associations were identified.
- PublicaciónAcceso abiertoSusceptibilidad a antibióticos en patógenos aislados de niños hospitalizados y ambulatorios en centros hospitalarios de las ciudad de Bogotá, D.C. 2010-2015(Bucaramanga : Universidad de Santander, 2017, 2017-08-25) De La Hoz Celis, Rodolfo A.; Aguilar Jiménez, Jhancy Rocío; Díaz Quijano, Fredi AlexanderThe increase in resistance to antibiotics, constitutes a threat to human health and one of the biggest concerns in the world. For this reason, since 2001, the Group for the Control of Antimicrobial Resistance in Bogota (GREBO) has implemented a surveillance system according to the World Health Organization. Objective. To determine the antimicrobial resistance profile of bacteria isolated from pediatric patients in the hospital and outpatient settings of public and private institutions of the city of Bogotá D.C., from January 2010 to December 2015. Methodology. A retrospective descriptive observational study was performed. We included 61,347 bacterial isolates of pediatric patients from the hospital, pediatric ICU, neonatal ICU and outpatient clinics of ten public and private institutions in the city of Bogotá. We studied secondary source variables related to demographic and clinical aspects of patients, as well as those related to clinical laboratory diagnosis. The antibiotics to be analyzed were defined according to the established clinical protocols and the corresponding antibacterial spectrum. Stata 12.0 © was used for the statistical analysis and frequency, central tendency and dispersion measures were used. Results. It was evidenced an increase of E.coli resistance from the year 2010 to 2015. Antibiotics such as ampicillin Sulbactam, Cefotaxime, Cefepime, Ertapenem have lost sensitivity to this germ. Imipenem, Meropenem and Amikacin maintained good sensitivity patterns for S. aureus and there was no significant decrease in sensitivity to oxacillin. Conclusion. Socializing the interior of health institutions, the results of surveillance systems in antibiotic resistance, ensure adequate treatments and improve the resistance patterns of some bacteria to antibiotics.
- PublicaciónAcceso abiertoValidez y reproducibilidad de la escala Alfa en escolares de Bucaramanga, Colombia(2013-06) Jaimes Barros, Alexandra Patricia; Mantilla McCormick, Fernando José; Aguilar Jiménez, Jhancy RocíoLanguage is mankind’s most used system as means of expression. To evaluate language development some standardized tests are required, but many of those are from foreign countries and must be validated; therefore, there is an interest in evaluate diagnostic features of Alfa scale in Colombian population. It was made an evaluation study on diagnostic technologies with transversal sampling, on 77 students ages 3 to 17 from randomly chosen schools. The inclusion and exclusion criteria were selected according to guidelines for the application of the scale. To develop this study, informed consent was obtained from the students’ parents. A descriptive analysis, criteria validation and reproducibility among Alpha scale methods with regards to the application of a linguistic evaluation protocol are shown. In this work, Alfa scale showed sensitivity up to 31.8% and specificity up to 57.9%. The reproducibility between the scale and the speech language evaluation for verbal expression presented a kappa of 0.36 (CI 95% 0.18 – 0.54). As a conclusion, Alfa scale’s diagnostic features in studied sample didn’t show a good performance. It is necessary to develop adaptations in vocabulary and syntactic structures to carry out the test in Colombia.
