To describe the quality of life and health determinants in students of the faculty of health sciences in a higher education institution, Cucuta 2020 Study of quantitative approach and descriptive type. Information related to the perception of quality of life and health determinants was recorded in a sociodemographic survey and Gencat Scale. The population was 1537 students from the health sciences faculty, and the sample was probabilistic and stratified, made up of 138 participants, where 6 university students were excluded from the study for the first objective because they did not complete the information and 14 students were excluded for the second objective for the same reason. The data were processed using Microsoft Excel version 2016. The determinants of health, 62% are women, 51% are between 21-25 years old, 33% are in socioeconomic stratum 3, 76% have an active sexual life, 52% do not belong to any social group, 14% rarely use psychoactive substances, 65% have never smoked and 31% consume alcohol many times. The students' perception of the quality of life is satisfactory in its different dimensions. Students present symptoms of depression in 53% and anxiety in 46% similar to the results reported by authors Cecilia Chau and Patty Villela who measured psychological risk factors in college students reporting that 50.6% presented symptoms of depression and 26.6% of anxiety. In emotional well-being, personal development and self-determination most students show positive aspects with their present life.
