Renewable energy in the last 20 years have been gaining strength in the global energy market , as they are important to mitigate the deficiency of fossil fuels and to reduce the environmental problems caused by the generation of greenhouse gases effect. Within renewable energy is biomass, this is primarily referred to solar energy converted by the vegetation in more vegetation or organic matter and then said organic matter can be converted into different types of energy , according to the use you want to give . Biomass by anthropogenic effect can generate a lot of waste if they are not given proper use can lead to various problems . Inadequate management of garden waste at the University of Santander has created a problem of environmental pollution that harms the university community. On campus a considerable amount of waste from the natural and artificial pruning creates a great potential for the generation of biogas and electricity generation for such a qualification and quantification of the energy potential was made, and analyzed the different processing technologies vegetable waste , among these was determined that the most feasible technology transformation from the environmental, energy , economic and social, is anaerobic digestion. The construction of an anaerobic digester is characterized conditions requires special design, but in turn uses inexpensive materials and erecting addition Santander University has implemented an environmental policy that supports the development of such projects
