The quality of healthcare services is a crucial aspect of healthcare management, as it directly impacts patient satisfaction and treatment effectiveness. In the field of physiotherapy, assessing service perception helps identify areas for improvement and ensures high standards of care. In Colombia, although regulations exist to guarantee healthcare quality, challenges remain in delivering effective and patient-centered services. In this context, the present study analyzes the association between sociodemographic factors and the quality of physiotherapy services in an IPS in Bucaramanga between August and December 2024. This research employs a mixed-method approach with an observational, analytical, cross-sectional design. Data were collected through a survey based on the Medrisk Instrument for Measuring Patient Satisfaction with Physical Therapy Care (MRPS) and semi-structured interviews with patients receiving physiotherapy. Variables such as age, gender, educational level, and socioeconomic status were analyzed using statistical tests in SPSS 26 to assess potential associations with perceived service quality. The results showed that no statistically significant associations were found between sociodemographic factors and service quality perception (p > 0.05). However, most patients expressed high satisfaction, emphasizing the therapist’s empathetic approach and the staff’s kindness. The qualitative phase identified areas for improvement, such as upgrading equipment and establishing a stronger digital presence. In conclusion, perceived service quality in physiotherapy is more influenced by empathetic care and effective communication than by sociodemographic factors. It is recommended to optimize technological resources and strengthen quality management strategies to enhance patient experience and service efficiency.
