El presente trabajo investigativo presenta como objetivo general, comprender la reconstrucción de la identidad en hombres de Valledupar que han experimentado infidelidad por parte de sus parejas. Se realizó desde un enfoque cualitativo de diseño narrativo y biográfico, utilizando una técnica como entrevistas semiestructuradas, así mismo fue complementados por la utilización de instrumentos (genograma y guía de entrevista) aplicados a un muestreo homogéneo conformado por 6 participantes el cual fueron hombres de 20 a 55 años de edad. Dentro de los resultados se evidencio que, a nivel general la reconstrucción de la identidad elemento constitutivo en hombres podía verse estancada llevando a problemas de autoestima y dificultades para comprenderse a ellos mismos. asimismo, la reconstrucción de la identidad de los participantes no se limitaba únicamente al ámbito de pareja, sino que se extendía también a los entornos familiares, sociales y culturales donde se forjaban los roles, las funciones y la percepción de ellos mismos, y que se asocia con la resignificación de la experiencia de infidelidad desde un meta observación tanto de la relación de la pareja como de sí mismos dentro de las relaciones por la que pasaron cada uno de los participantes, en comparación con la investigación de (Ruiz y obregón, 2023) de como las mujeres reconstruyen la identidad después de la infidelidad y resignifican la experiencia también se evidencio que no solo se basó la investigación en la relación de pareja, sino que también en la contexto familiar, lo que relaciona la percepción que tienen las mujeres y hombres ante la experiencia de la infidelidad, y que siempre se ve influenciada por el patrón con el que son criados, de esta forma la reconstrucción de la identidad en los hombres y mujeres es un proceso transitorio que ayudara a que estos consigan estrategias con el fin de reformular su experiencia ante una infidelidad.

The general objective of this investigative work is to understand the reconstruction of identity in men from Valledupar who have experienced infidelity on the part of their partners. It was carried out from a qualitative approach of narrative and biographical design, using techniques such as semi-structured interviews and reflective conversational spaces, it was also complemented by the use of instruments (genogram and interview guide) applied to a homogeneous sampling made up of 6 participants who were men from 20 to 55 years of age. Within the results, it was evident that, at a general level, the construction of identity as a constitutive element in men could be seen stagnant, leading to self-esteem problems and difficulties in understanding themselves. Likewise, the reconstruction of the identity of the participants was not limited only to the couple's sphere, but also extended to the family, social and cultural environments where roles, functions and perception of themselves were forged, and which were associated with the resignification of the experience of infidelity from a meta-observation of both the couple's relationship and themselves within the relationships that each of the participants went through. In comparison with the research by (Ruiz y Obregón, 2023) on how women reconstruct their identity after infidelity and re-signify the experience, it was also evident that the research was not only based on the couple's relationship, but also on the context. family, which relates the perception that women and men have when faced with the experience of infidelity, and which is always influenced by the pattern with which they are raised, in this way the reconstruction of identity in men and women is a transitional process that will help them achieve strategies in order to reformulate their experience of infidelity.
