Esta investigación abordo el tema de las aves en peligro de extinción en el departamento de Santander, debido a la perdida y fragmentación de bosques se convierte en la principal amenaza que trae consigo la disminución de los árboles nativos de la región y, por ende, se pierde una gran parte de la biodiversidad que a su vez afecta al hábitat de las aves y su diversidad, teniendo en cuenta que Colombia es el país con el mayor número de aves en el mundo es importante que exista una gran responsabilidad en la conservación del patrimonio natural del país. El objetivo principal de la investigación fue darles un espacio para visibilizar sus características principales, distribución geográfica, nivel de conocimiento, importancia ecológica y factores de amenaza mediante un medio editorial ilustrado; Se estableció una metodología de seis fases que lleve a la creación de un material adaptado para los jóvenes de 15 a 25 años donde se explore desde el diseño y la ilustración el mejor canal para informar a un público que podría convertirse en protectores de la fauna del departamento. De acuerdo con el análisis realizado, se concluye que se identificaron cuatro aves que son endémicas de Colombia las cuales son: Amazilia castaneiventris, Crax alberti, Thryophilus nicefori, Odontophorus strophium encontrándose en el estado de conservación de critico (CR) y vulnerable (VU), así mismo también se concluyó que la gran mayoría de personas desconocen las aves que habitan el departamento de Santander.

This research addressed the issue of endangered birds in the department of Santander, due to the loss and fragmentation of forests becomes the main threat that brings with it the decrease of native trees in the region and, therefore, a large part of biodiversity is lost which in turn affects the habitat of birds and their diversity, taking into account that Colombia is the country with the largest number of birds in the world is important that there is a great responsibility in the conservation of the natural heritage of the country. The main objective of the research was to give them a space to visualize their main characteristics, geographical distribution, level of knowledge, ecological importance and threat factors through an illustrated editorial medium; a six-phase methodology was established that leads to the creation of a material adapted for young people aged 15 to 25 years where the best channel to inform a public that could become protectors of the fauna of the department is explored from the design and illustration. According to the analysis carried out, it is concluded that four birds were identified that are endemic to Colombia which are: Amazilia castaneiventris, Crax alberti, Thryophilus nicefori, Odontophorus strophium being in the conservation status of critical (CR) and vulnerable (VU), likewise it was also concluded that the vast majority of people are unaware of the birds that inhabit the department of Santander
