Introducción: La validación de instrumentos reviste gran importancia para dar credibilidad a los resultados de una investigación, esto permite crear un cuestionario coherente, claro, pertinente y relevante. Objetivo: Estimar la validez por juicio de expertos de un instrumento, para determinar la aplicabilidad, en la evaluación de la política de humanización en una institución de salud mental de Bucaramanga en el año 2019. Tipo de estudio de abordaje cuantitativo y transversal, que tuvo por objetivo estimar, describir, identificar y determinar la validez del contenido del instrumento que evalúa la Política de Humanización llevado a cabo en un Centro de Salud Mental del área metropolitana de Bucaramanga, Santander. Población y muestra: profesionales de la salud con experiencia en la temática. Se aplicó una prueba piloto a 10 trabajadores de la Institución de salud Mental de Bucaramanga, Santander, y se seleccionaron 10 conjueces que validaron el instrumento final. Resultados: se utilizó índice de validez de contenido (IVC) para cada uno de los criterios como: Pertinencia, Coherencia, Relevancia y Claridad. Para comprobar la concordancia de los Jueces se usó el método de w Kendall. En el proceso se anularon dos preguntas por similitud, quedando el análisis con 31 ítems que componen el instrumento. Hubo consenso en los jueces, en la mayoría de los ítems, evaluando las variables descritas. Los ítems 3, 6, 11, tienen valores de IVC más bajos que la mayoría, con resultado de 0.8, aunque debe tenerse en cuenta que está muy cerca del óptimo:1, y por lo tanto también puede decirse que son preguntas esenciales. Discusión: La validez del instrumento, aporta a la evaluación de la Política de Humanización. Conclusión: El instrumento construido es válido, para el propósito por el cual fue creado.

Introduction: The validation of instruments is very important to give credibility to the results of an investigation, this allows creating a coherent, clear, pertinent and relevant questionnaire. Objective: To estimate the validity, by expert judgment, of an instrument, to determine the applicability, in the evaluation of the humanization policy in a mental health institution in Bucaramanga in 2019. Type of study with a quantitative and cross-sectional approach, which had by objective to estimate, describe, identify and determine the validity of the content of the instrument that evaluates the Humanization Policy carried out in a Mental Health Center in the metropolitan area of Bucaramanga, Santander. Population and sample: health professionals with experience in the subject. A pilot test was applied to 10 workers from the Mental Health Institution of Bucaramanga, Santander, and 10 judges were selected to validate the final instrument. Results: content validity index (IVC) was used for each of the criteria such as: Relevance, Coherence, Relevance and Clarity. To check the agreement of the Judges, the method of w Kendall was used. In the process, two questions were canceled due to similarity, leaving the analysis with 31 items that make up the instrument. There was consensus in the judges, in most of the items, evaluating the described variables. Items 3, 6, 11 have lower IVC values than most, with a result of 0.8, although it must be taken into account that it is very close to the optimum: 1, and therefore it can also be said that they are essential questions. Discussion: The validity of the instrument contributes to the evaluation of the Humanization Policy. Conclusion: The constructed instrument is valid, for the purpose for which it was created.
